- There are 61 ECD centres under Blantyre Synod.
- 10 of these are formal (Pre-schools) while 50 are Community Child Care Centres which have established by Blantyre Synod Health Development Commission (BSHDC).
- Synod Management approved that each congregation should have a nursery school. A number of Churches are responding positively to the call.
- The schools are now being management by the Education department since May 2014.
- Fees have been introduced to support school activities. Minimum School fee is at K500.
- Chickens, goats and pigs for sale are some of farming activities taking place to support the centres.
